The Estate covers 5,250 hectares and is a thriving mix of countryside pursuits including the renowned high pheasant and partridge shoot, livestock farming, forestry, commercial and residential properties covering a huge variety of land types from heather clad hills to the fertile flood plains of the River App.
Glenapp has a history of providing some of the highest quality, challenging and sporting pheasant shooting in Scotland with notable and renowned drives throughout the Estate. The pheasant shoot combines perfectly with the partridge shoot which is established on the dramatic coastal cliffs, amid the high hills, deep glens and moorland fringe of the Estate allowing experienced guns a fantastic opportunity for challenging sport throughout the season.

Farm and Estate Administrator(s)

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen with a large, diversified, progressive and secure rural business with a dedicated and committed team.
The Role:
This role requires an organised, self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask. The appointee will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Director, Office Manager and other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of a busy office. They will also be involved in other aspects of the farming estate and principal house as required.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Providing administrative support which includes clerical activities such as typing letters, invoicing, filing, scanning and uploading invoices to the accounts system.
- Updating and maintaining accurate data and expense records, primarily on excel which is then used to provide monthly reconciliations and reports.
- Inputting invoices onto accountancy software, reconciling bank accounts & processing payments.
- Answering incoming calls and confidently dealing with the enquiry, transfer the call or take accurate messages as required.
- Carrying out research and presenting findings.
- Responsibility for rental properties including viewings, rental agreements via Property agent, compliance and rent.
- Maintaining up to date stock records (livestock, dead stock, plant and machinery) and assisting with compliance, stock counts, pricing and reordering.
- Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority.
- Dealing with incoming email, and post, often corresponding on behalf of the manager.
- Liaising with advisors, reviewing and updating health and safety and training documentation.
- Organising and maintaining diaries and appointments.
- Sourcing and ordering equipment for all areas of the farming estate.
- Arranging travel & accommodation.
- Scheduling and prioritising workload.
Person Specification:
- Excellent administration experience and the ability to learn new skills and systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fully competent on computers including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
- Have excellent organisation skills with the ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced proactive business.
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
- A can-do attitude.

Housekeeper

A Housekeeper is required for a non-resident family to look after their second home on their private agricultural and sporting estate in South West Scotland.
The position can come with a suitable house on the Estate. However, it may suit someone who lives locally.
The current properties that the family use include:
- A much loved 10 bedroom, second home to a large extended family based in England.
- A 3 bedroom recently completed beach house which the family will mostly use for picnics and entertaining with occasional overnight stays.
- A two bedroom cottage, mostly used for private chefs and seasonal assistance.
Hence the role is variable and only busy for relatively short periods at a time.
This Housekeepers position is based on 4 day* working week, with time given off in lieu during the seasonal peak demand. The house is used for approx. 100 days per year including family occupancy, meeting and commercial shoots. Only the family stay overnight in the house totally approx. 70 nights / year ranging from single occupancy to large house parties of up to 20 guests.
The Housekeeper will take care of the Properties, ensuring that they are always clean, neat and tidy.
Duties will include:
- Dealing with grocery shopping and maintaining accounts and budgets
- Placing orders for kitchen supplies
- Maintaining stock control
- Keeping kitchen pots, pans and work surfaces clean and in good condition
- Ensuring refrigerator is clean and out-of-date items discarded and recording temperatures
- Tidying and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
- Polishing brass and silver, antiques, and fine furniture
- Cleaning windows and carpets
- Collecting, washing and ironing laundry. Hand washing delicate items
- Arranging for dry-cleaning
- Answering door and telephone
- Feeding and exercising pets
- Keeping patios, pathways and steps clean and tidy
- Watering household plants
- Handling petty cash and debit cards
- Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors
- Managing security alarms
- Ensuring vehicles are clean and fuelled.
- Carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask
While private chefs are employed for times when there is family entertaining or house parties in residence , it would be an advantage to potential candidates to have the ability to cook and serve simple, nutritious and healthy meals for limited numbers of house guests and on non residential shoot days.
A non residential shoot day means coffee in am, soup for elevenses, lunch for team of guns and beaters and afternoon tea for guns.
